Ajay Mehta was born in New Delhi, India.  He attended two of the most prestigious institutions -- Mayo College [private boarding school] and St. Stephens College, Delhi University.   Talent requires genius and Ajay attributes his success to his parents, particularly his father Lt. Col. Baij Nath Mehta.  A decorated war hero declared Missing in Action in 1962 while commanding the 1st Sikh Regiment against the Chinese Aggression in N.E. India.  Like Ajay, his father enjoyed acting, directing and writing playlets.  Ajay is also blessed with his father's looks, voice and personality.

After graduation Ajay moved to Hong Kong. While there, he did continuity announcing and scriptwriting for HK TVB Pearl-English, including cameos in TV Dramas, Commercials, and Print.

He made his U.S. Primetime TV debut in 1989 on NBC 'Around the World in 80 Days' opposite Sir Peter Ustinov. The scene was shot in Hong Kong and then Ajay made his way to New York City.  Ajay's versatility as an actor has enabled him to play many diverse characters on Primetime Television Comedy’s and Dramatic Series in Recurring and Guest Starring roles.

In September 2016 Ajay worked on the comedy film 'Poor Greg Drowning' which evolved out of the web series 'Glimpses of Greg' that he shot in January 2016. He plays Dr. Naik, a rather raunchy psychiatrist. The film is scheduled to be released in 2017.

In April/May of 2016 Ajay shot the black comedy thriller '68 Kill' in New Orleans playing Sam the owner of a seedy motel. The film is based on a book by prolific genre novelist Bryan Smith and stars Matthew Gray Gubler. '68 Kill' was released August 4th theatrically and OnDemand.

In July of 2014 Ajay worked on Judd Apatow's comedy film "Trainwreck" playing Dr. Raj Ganesh a neurologist, released by Universal Studios in July, 2015.

In Animation and Video Games you will recognize Ajay's voice in: AMC+'s 'Pantheon' as two characters - Indian telecom billionaire Ajit Prasad [recurring] & Commodore; a main character Rakshasa (Kalinag) in one of the world's most popular video games 'Far Cry 4'; and in 'Johnny Bravo' playing Head Tiffinwallah, Bollywood Producer, Little Thug, and Old Sikh Security Gaurd.

One of Ajay’s career highlights is his role as Citigroup CEO Vikram Pandit in ‘Too Big To Fail The film was directed by Curtis Hanson and is based on Andrew Ross Sorkin’s bestseller by the same title.

In 2014 Ajay's is in "Decoding Annie Parker" a film based on the compelling true story of cancer survival and its near cure. It opened on May 2nd nationwide in 60 cities. He plays Annie Parker's [Samantha Morton] OB/ GYN.

In 2013 Ajay plays the President of India in Paramount's Blockbuster "G.I. Joe: The Retaliation", in 3-D, it opened at number one nationwide and worldwide March 29, 2013.
